Middle East’s largest wellness destination opened in Qatar

The Zulal Wellness Resort, the world’s first contemporary showcase of traditional Arabic and Islamic medicine (TAIM) and the world’s first wellness focused family resort, has been officially opened in Qatar.

Created by Qatari developers, Msheireb Properties, the 28 hectare resort offers guests unique services and treatments, which are based upon Arabic and Islamic wellness principles, using ingredients indigenous to the region.

Sited in Khasooma, on the Arabian Gulf coast the northern tip of Qatar, a 90 minute drive from the centre of the nation’s capital of Doha, for guests, the resort features over 120 rooms and suites, a spa lagoon, family pool and a wide selection of treatment villas.

Managed by Chiva-Som International of Thailand, the wellbeing retreat presents two specific approaches as part of its experience; Zulal Serenity, which focuses on the wellbeing of adult guests, and Zulal Discovery which invites families to connect and embark on a wellness journey together..

With over two decades of experience honed at its flagship resort in Hua Hin, Thailand, Chiva-Som is expanding its emphasis on indigenous wellness practices, presenting a menu of over 400 wellness treatments aim to inspire positive and enduring lifestyle changes.

Introducing the resort, Chiva-Som Chairman and Chief Executive, Krip Rojanastien advised “the opening of the wellness resort by Chiva-Som goes beyond our commitment to expand our global presence.

Zulal, meaning ‘pure natural water’ in Arabic, offers two distinctive zones for health and wellbeing.
