Dubai’s Emaar group cancels community events and festivities due to ‘the current global situation’
United Arab Emirates-based real estate and entertainment group Emaar group has cancelled community events and festivities in its Dubai property developments due to “the current global situation”.
In a letter shared with residents, the Emaar Community Management team said events and festivities would be stopped until further notice.
Offering thoughts to those affected by recent events, Emaar also offered support and apologies for inconvenience caused.
The message sent to Emaar residents noted “please be informed that we are writing to inform you about an important decision that has been made regarding the upcoming community events and festivities.
“Due to the current global situation and the ongoing challenges faced by our global community, we have decided to cancel the upcoming community events, until further announcement.
“We understand that our community events are cherished occasions for many, especially our younger residents, and this decision was not taken lightly.
“Our thoughts are with those who are affected by the recent events, and we stand in solidarity with them during these difficult times.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation during these extraordinary circumstances.”
Earlier this week, Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena announced the postponement of two concerts which were scheduled to take place this weekend.
Amr Diab, Sean Paul and T.I. were expected to perform at the venue on Friday and Saturday. However, the Coca-Cola Arena did not specify the reasons behind the change and new dates are yet to be confirmed.
In a statement, the venue announced “the Amr Diab and Sean Paul & T.I. concerts scheduled for this weekend at the Coca-Cola Arena will be postponed. Over the coming days we will work closely with the authorities, promoters, and artist management to secure new dates.”
