Dubai's Coca-Cola Arena has received international recognition for its live entertainment excellence, being named ‘Venue of the Year’ award win at the annual Middle East Event Awards.

The award, presented as part of a virtual event on 5th April, is a triumph for Coca-Cola Arena in a competitive category, with a number of significant venues being shortlisted across the region.

Welcoming the award, Guy Ngata, Chief Executive of Coca-Cola Arena, stated “we are tremendously proud to see Coca-Cola Arena being recognised across the Middle East.

“The success of Coca-Cola Arena as the home of live entertainment in the region is thanks to the great vision that our owner Dubai Holding has shown, as well as the continued support of our family of partners and all at ASM Global.”

With a capacity of 17,000, Coca-Cola Arena is the first venue of its kind in the MENA region and boasts some of the most modern design aspects ever to be incorporated. Extending Dubai’s live events season by six months by offering a state-of-the-art, purpose-built, fully air-conditioned indoor arena that can host shows all year round, Coca-Cola Arena has welcomed leading artists such as Maroon 5, Russell Peters, Maluma, A.R. Rahman, Tony Robbins, Joy Koy, Arab sensation Rashid Al-Majed, and a number of key government events including Arab Hope Makers.

Ngata added “as a team, we are delighted to be recognised for this award after what has been a challenging year for live events.

“We welcomed fans back with the return of live events in November, incorporating new social distancing and hygiene procedures as part of ASM Global’s VenueShield initiative.

“We have been delighted to provide live entertainment to Dubai again, and we anticipate this increasing over the months ahead. Dubai Holding and our partners have been unwavering in their commitment to Coca-Cola Arena during a difficult year, and we look forward to continuing to deliver world-class events.

“It is testament to the dedication of our extended team and partners that Coca-Cola Arena has been awarded ‘Venue of The Year’ in the Middle East.”

The Middle East Event Awards held a virtual ceremony this year to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the industry over the last two years. With a record number of nominations and over 400 entries submitted, the awards recognised those who have been involved in creating some of the best events in the world.

Coca-Cola Arena was also shortlisted for ‘Best Event Marketing Campaign’ for its launch and opening.
