Sports Toto Korea trial event gambling addiction prevention campaign at SPOEX 2024

Sports Toto Korea, the operator of the nation’s sports betting game Sportstoto, is using its participation at the 2024 Seoul International Sports and Leisure Industry Exhibition (SPOEX) to highlight its campaign to prevent gambling addiction.

In partnership with South Korea’s National Sports Promotion Agency (NSPA) and the Korea Gambling Problem Prevention and Healing Centre’s, Gambling Addiction Prevention Campaign program, Sports Toto Korea’s promotional booth in Hall B will see it not only promote its campaign to prevent gambling addiction but also offer a gambling problem screening test (CPGI) for visitors, a social media follow-up event and a sports event experience.

The sports event experience sees guests engage with a prototype purchase where visitors who have never purchased Sportstoto will be provided with a relatively high probability of hitting experience, informing them of what organisers say is “the joy of safer and sound sports betting”.

While the prevalence of problem gambling in South Korea is low compared to other countries, especially relative to other Asian nations, Sports Toto Korea has since 2001, seen game participants analyse and predict game results for sports including football, baseball, basketball, volleyball and golf with payouts then issued according to the game results.

Participants will also receive generous gifts including pouches and beauty tools, Betman membership registration, SNS follow-up events, and satisfaction surveys.

A Sports Toto Korea spokesperson advised “it is very meaningful that I participated in a meeting where I could meet the general public face-to-face and promote the soundness and public interest of Sports Toto at the same time.

“We look forward to seeing a lot of interest and participation in this event.”

Being held at Seoul’s COEX until Sunday (25th February), SPOEX is the largest comprehensive exhibition of the sports and leisure industry in Korea co-hosted by the NSPA and the Korea International Trade Association.
