PMY Group announces chief executive appointment for investment company PMY Capital
February 15, 2022

PMY Group has today announced that leading investment funds management executive, Costa Alexiou, has been appointed Chief Executive of its investment company, PMY Capital.

PMY Capital has successfully pioneered the investment of capital into a variety of venues for the supply, installation, and operation of modern technology with existing partners in Australia including the Australian Turf Club, Sydney Showground Stadium and Sydney Motorsport Park, as well as various USA venues.

Alexiou was most recently the Chief Executive of Drapac Capital Partners, an international property investment group based in the United States, where he grew the assets under management to over $500 million.

He is familiar with PMY’s growth story and its global senior executives, having been a non-executive Director of PMY since 2019.

Melbourne-based PMY’s worldwide client base for its various technology services continues to expand rapidly, with a series of high-profile USA venues added recently.

With one focus of PMY Capital being to satisfy demand in the USA for external capital to finance venues’ technology installations and upgrades, Alexiou advises “this is a significant addressable market with double-digit annual growth, where not many investment groups have the skillset and industry expertise to understand the complexity of the market.

“We understand how best to structure a capital investment that satisfies the relationship between the design and construction of technology infrastructure, the optimisation of its operation, and the delivery of both commercial and fan engagement benefits for a venue.

“We have already proven the business model with our Australian investment partnerships. I have seen first-hand how supporting clients with versatile investment models can accelerate a venue’s technology transformation. The timing is right to provide this support on a global scale, and I am most pleased to join Paul Yeomans and the talented PMY team to accelerate the expansion of PMY Capital.”

The appointment of Alexiou will see PMY Capital embark upon its next series of investments, and to commence a significant capital raise to support its addressable global market.

PMY Group provides technology solutions to venues, infrastructure and major events.

Founded in Melbourne, in 2009 with a simple vision to provide major venues, events and sporting organisations with independent advice to support their technology needs, PMY Group has assisted more than 200 venues and major events across 14 countries. It has offices located in Australia, USA, UK, Europe and Asia.
