PLAE invests in innovation factory to build new line of premium strength training racks
January 19, 2022

US-based athletic performance company PLAE, continues its commitment to developing innovative solutions that fuel human performance with an investment of more than $10 million in an 8000 square metre factory to custom-build a new line of premium strength training racks. The new PLAE ICONx racks complement the brand’s high-performance athletic flooring systems and global education and coaching platform.

PLAE President, Brett Waits advises “our goal has never been to simply manufacture products, but to innovate the absolute best solutions that drive human performance. This state-of-the-art innovation factory compels us to continue evolving the industry and elevating the customer and user experience in additional product categories with excellence.”

Located on the company’s nine-acre headquarters campus, the smart factory embodies PLAE’s philosophy that innovation never stops and the pursuit of perfection never ends. As such, it further perfects PLAE’s signature customer experience process – called [FORMULA] – which is comprised of a true collaboration with the customer, custom design-build, professional installation and project management.

For exceptional quality, the factory is equipped with high-tech machine tools, robotic welding and fiber lasers from leading industrial machine manufacturer TRUMPF. Within the futuristic factory, people, machines, automation and software efficiently work in precise sync.

Shane Gooneratne, Managing Director of PLAE International, notes “cutting-edge manufacturing enables us to engineer specific products for specific applications and have full control over our supply chain, quality, experience and performance.”

Using US-made steel, the PLAE ICONx racks are precisely engineered based on comprehensive customer direction and a detailed design process. To elevate both form and function, PLAE provides virtually unlimited combinations and customisations of these modular units with paint schemes, branding, grilles, J-cups, gussets and attachments.

Integral in the compelling aesthetics is a superior military-grade coating that significantly outperforms standard powder coating. Built for aggressive training applications, the exclusive ARMR textured satin finish is available in 16 standard colour options.

Rich Gray, Executive VP of Sales at PLAE, adds “going above and beyond to deliver the best products, we execute the entire experience like no one else. We customise each solution to complement individual training environments; scrutinise every detail of how they look, function, feel, and sound; and expertly bring our customers’ visions to life.”

Currently accepting inquiries on custom-built ICONx racks, PLAE anticipates shipping product globally by March.

Waits concluded “we’re creating the future. This is only the beginning.”
