PCB signs up with Dubai Sports City

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) signed a three-year deal with Dubai Sports City to play various series in Dubai.

The agreement was confirmed by Shafqat Nagmi, PCB's Chief Operating Officer, PCB at a press conference at the Gadaffi Stadium, Nagmi stating "under the recently signed contract Pakistan team will play different events at the off shore venue for three years after completion of Dubai Cricket Stadium next year."

Nagmi added that the stadium is likely to be completed in February next year after which a tri-nation tournament involving Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be played there in April 2009.

Nagmi said the next two years program at Dubai includes the participation of the Pakistan team in Twenty-20 events, saying âit is a lucrative contract which will help in overcoming the loss after postponement of Champions Trophy, adding "through this deal we will be generating enough funds besides having a definite program of our team's participation in international cricket."
