KX Pilates announces expansion into Japan

KX Pilates, Australia's largest Reformer Pilates brand, has announced its expansion into Japan. Under a master franchise agreement with Atsuyuki Tsuchiya, former President of Fast Fitness Japan and a key figure in Japan’s fitness sector, KX Pilates aims to bring its workout experience to the Japanese market.
Known for blending traditional Pilates techniques with industry-leading innovations, KX Pilates has built a reputation for setting new standards in fitness across the Asia-Pacific region.
Guided by the Japanese philosophy of ‘Kaizen’ - continuous improvement and positive change - KX Pilates is committed to empowering clients to reach their potential through meaningful, impactful workouts that prioritise in-person connection over screen interaction.
Tsuchiya enthused "we are thrilled to partner with KX Pilates Australia to introduce this dynamic workout to Japan.
“We believe the KX concept, workouts, and the lifestyle that accompanies it are exactly what modern Japanese people need."
With locations planned in Tokyo and Osaka, KX Pilates is preparing to meet the growing demand in Japan for holistic, high-quality fitness experiences.
Since launching in 2010 under the leadership of founder Aaron Smith, KX Pilates has become a leader in the APAC market, with over 30,000 unique clients each week. Now in 2024, the brand has a commanding presence in New Zealand, Indonesia, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and an online platform in the U.S.
Each KX Pilates studio is outfitted with proprietary KXFormers™ designed in collaboration with industry-leading manufacturers Balanced Body, offering progressive, client-centred workouts in a screen-free environment. This focus on personal connection between instructors and clients has been instrumental in establishing KX Pilates as a trusted brand worldwide.
KX Pilates’ approach, built on Kaizen and community, makes it an ideal fit for the Japanese market. By fostering partnerships with those who understand the brand’s vision, KX Pilates continues to grow its global footprint with purpose, offering more people the opportunity to ‘define themselves’ through the experience of its high-intensity, low-impact workouts.
KX Pilates is a leader in the global Reformer Pilates market, offering a unique, high-intensity workout that combines traditional Pilates with cardio and strength training. With 126+ studios in Australia (and across APAC), KX Pilates is dedicated to promoting well-being, inclusivity, and connection through expertly designed in-studio experiences that empower clients to achieve their fitness goals.
