Keepme Chief Executive appointed to Gymnation Board
March 20, 2024

Ian Mullane, Keepme Chief Executive, has been appointed to the Board of Directors at GymNation, as they plan for rapid expansion across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

This Board Member position demands a seasoned professional with a strong understanding of regional dynamics and a proven track record in implementing new technologies within the fitness industry. Founding Keepme, an AI-driven fitness solutions platform, in 2019 demonstrates Mullane 's comprehension of leveraging emerging technologies to enhance efficiency in the fitness industry.

Mullane spent many years as an operator himself, based in Singapore, followed by an entrepreneurial journey in the UK, during which he has been a committed member of ukactive’s Digital Futures Council. The industry knowledge and experience he will bring to GymNation’s board will be invaluable to their future growth.

Mullane enthused "having witnessed GymNation's remarkable growth journey over the past six years, I am thrilled to be part of their board. Their innovative use of technology and commitment to customer experience are truly impressive. I look forward to contributing to GymNation's continued success.”

Gymnation is fast becoming one of the most established fitness offerings in the GCC. By the end of 2024 they will have 25 gyms in operation throughout the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with more to come in the following years. This rapid growth is to facilitate GymNation’s goal of becoming the GCC’s ‘Region’s Movement Partner’ and to aid ‘Vision 2030’ in the KSA - Saudi Arabia's ambitious roadmap for economic diversification, global engagement, and enhanced quality of life.

Loren Holland, Chief Executive of GymNation, welcomed Mullane 's appointment, highlighting his deep understanding of the industry's challenges and opportunities and sharing "we are incredibly pleased to welcome Ian to the GymNation Board of Directors. His vast experience as both an operator and supplier provide him with a granular view of the challenges faced in our sector and how they can be overcome using technology. Ian’s insight and guidance will be instrumental in our mission to make GymNation not just the best fitness operator within the GCC but the global leader in the adoption and utilization of technology and data within the industry."

Keepme has customers in countries around the world who are utilising machine learning and large language models through the platform every day to streamline operations. Mullane has an uncommon level of foresight on how emerging technology can be applied within the fitness industry, making him an ideal addition to the GymNation board.

Karl Foster, Chief Technology and Innovation Officer at GymNation adds "Ian's track record in implementing AI for business efficiency and member satisfaction will be a significant boost to our plans of continuing to innovate and lead in our field. I look forward to working closely with Ian, building on his expertise to further integrate cutting-edge technology into our operations.”

Mullane 's appointment comes at a strategic time for GymNation, following the management buyout of JD Gyms and another new addition to the board, James Wigglesworth, joining as a non-executive director. With 12 new locations planned for 2024, GymNation is poised for rapid expansion across the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

As GymNation cements its position as a leader in the GCC fitness industry, Mullane's appointment underscores the company's commitment to innovation and customer-centricity and will aid GymNation in its mission to make fitness more accessible, affordable, and enjoyable for everyone in the region.
