Hong Kong’s first mini golf club opens in Causeway Bay

Hong Kong’s first mini golf club opens in Causeway Bay
January 8, 2018

Strokes, Hong Kong’s first ‘mini golf club’, has just opened in the Fashion Walk mall in the city’s Causeway Bay area.

The 750 metre² attraction offers two nine-hole mini golf courses complete with bright pastel colours and heritage inspired aesthetics.

Holes include 360-degree loop-the-loops, bridges, ball jumps, tunnels, winding passages and ramps throughout the course, with the attraction offering a restaurant and cocktail and craft beer bar.

The mini golf club installation is part of a growing trend by shopping mall operators to offer entertainment and sport-based attractions to entice shoppers in an increasingly competitive market battling with the growth in online retailing.

The opening also follow the announcement of plans to develop apartment blocks on part of a 170-hectare golf course in Fanling, and wider calls for the Hong Kong Government to develop housing on 400 hectares of public land currently used for private recreation.
