GL Events named major delivery partner for 2026 Asian Games and Para Asian Games

Global supplier GL Events has been announced as the major delivery partner for the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian and Para Asian Games in Japan - running through September and October.

The company will design, fit out and manage the 58 venues that are due to host the continental event including the Paloma Mizuho Stadium which is being renovated for the Games.

In a statement, the French-based operators advised “as Event Delivery Entity, GL events will deploy a comprehensive range of expertise: site studies and design, installation of temporary infrastructures, set-up of hospitality areas and media zones, management of access and accreditation systems, and organisation of medal ceremonies.

“A complete service offering, designed to support organisers at every key stage of the event.

“This new contract confirms GL events’ expertise in managing complex, tailor-made projects on an international scale.

“It also highlights the Group’s ability to provide sustainable and innovative solutions that meet the expectations of organisers and the evolving challenges of the event industry.”

GL Events Chairman and Chief Executive, Olivier Ginon went on to advise “we are committed to creating memorable experiences that will leave their mark on the history of these Games.

“With that objective, the Group’s teams will be rapidly deployed to implement the most effective solutions.

This major project will ensure significant business growth for the group in 2025 and 2026.”

GL Events has also helped to deliver the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia, the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, and the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The 2026 Asian Games will be hosted in Nagoya marking the third time the quadrennial Games is staged in Japan.

The bid from the city of Nagoya and Aichi Prefecture was approved by the 35th Olympic Council of Asia’s (OCA) General Assembly in Danang, Vietnam, where the 2016 Asian Beach Games is currently taking place.

Next year’s Asian Games are scheduled to take place from 19th September to 4th October before the Asian Para Games run from 18th to 24th October.
