Co-founders of luxury Cycling Bears fitness equipment look to enter Australian hotel market
October 16, 2023

The Cycling Bears brand offers beautifully handcrafted fitness equipment that is not only smart, functional, sustainable and customisable but also enhances the overall look and feel of fitness centres or dedicated gym area in hotels, offices and even yachts.

Luxury hotel destination, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore has recently renovated their Top 30 suites to include Cycling Bears equipment co-founded by Singapore-based fitness enthusiasts Debra Tay and Tudi Guillamot.

With other international hotels also making the move into fashionable, functional gym equipment (The Maybourne Beverly Hills, Claridges London, RH Guesthouse in NYC), Tay and Guillamot are looking forward to bringing this same unique design enthusiasm to Australian hotels.

From selecting preferred materials and colours to offering engraving services, Cycling Bears is able to customise each piece of equipment to cater to clients' needs and preferences.

Tay shared “we started Cycling Bears with the intention of helping people create beautiful sanctuaries that will encourage and inspire them to take better care of their wellbeing – both physically and mentally.”

As a leader in the luxury fitness equipment space, Cycling Bears is committed to being part of the wellness equation, partnering with renowned luxury fitness brands like Ciclotte, PENT, NoHrd, and Stil- Fit to offer equipment that are exquisitely handcrafted from rich materials like wood, steel, leather and more. All of PENT’s products, for instance, are produced in-house in Poland using materials sourced from around Europe. All of the pieces are handcrafted, and can be personalised, which is unique for this market.

Tay and Guillamot note “while luxury means different things to different people, luxury to us is about bespoke, handcrafted products made from natural materials like wood. A luxurious space offers a calming effect and instantly draws people in, and that is exactly how we feel when we step into our showroom. The intoxicating scent of fresh leather from the exercise bench, boxing bag and gloves never fails to lift our spirits, while the fresh, earthy scent from the wooden stand evokes a sense of deep calm, like when walking through a crisp fragrant forest – these are the feelings we hope to help people create with our range of products.”

Tay is a trained interior designer and a certified National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) home gym designer and is well equipped to help clients design and set up fitness centres or dedicated gym areas.
