PR Executive ANZ, Merlin Entertainments

One of the world’s best known attraction brands, Merlin Entertainments Limited, is currently offering a unique opportunity to join our in-house PR team as a Public Relations Executive (permanent, full-time) for our Australian and New Zealand attractions.

This exciting, fast paced role will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of public relations strategies across a range of attractions and is based out of our Darling Harbour offices.

About the Role
Reporting to the Head of PR ANZ, you will be a part of a high-achieving and fast paced in-house PR team, yet work with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels of the business.

This role will give you the opportunity to assist in driving exciting public relations plans that will see you working with gorgeous koalas one day and celebrities the next. 

You will deliver tactical press office activations for the attractions to complement the overarching ANZ PR strategy, ultimately working with your PR and marketing peers to help create demand and grow brand awareness on behalf of the attractions.

This role offers the chance to provide creative contribution to plans and news hijacking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to learn and develop further skills whilst proactively organising and managing media and VIP famils, writing various copy as required including press releases, photo-calls and targeted pitches and assisting with on the ground research at attractions with regards to potential media opportunities.

You will be responsible for developing strong relationships with media to ensure cut through in various channels whilst keeping media databases up to date. You will also regularly utilise our media monitoring service to assist in creating monthly PR reports and work in conjunction with the digital and marketing teams to ensure social media messaging is in line with on-going PR activity.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have tertiary qualifications in marketing, communications, or a related field with at least two years PR experience in a similar industry. You will have experience in juggling multiple projects, challenges and stakeholders at once and be flexible enough to swiftly change the direction of your plans if required.

Your excellent verbal and written communication skills will compliment your creative side whereby you are confident to regularly contribute ideas that create demand for our attractions and coverage that allows them to shine more brightly than their competitors. You will have experience in working in a fast paced environment and also experience in dealing directly with media whereby you will have a strong list of media contacts to call on with amazing story opportunities that they just can’t pass up.

About the Benefits
