Venue Management Association announces support for COVIDSafe App
May 7, 2020

The Board of the Venue Management Association (VMA) has announced its support for the Australian Government’s #COVIDSafe app, encouraging Australians to download and make use of the resource.

A statement released today by the VMA advises “we believe that contact tracing will play a key role in the timely and safe return of patrons to our many venues across the nation - large and small, metro and regional.

“We want all Australians to be able to return to watch live sport, performances, music, theatre and events at the earliest possible opportunity.”

Entertainment and sport venues are facing lengthy closures during the Coronavirus crisis and while some venues are opening in Asia, UK-based theatre impresario Cameron Mackintosh this week warned that shows in London's West End and on New York's Broadway will be "last to go back".
