UBX launches its first global campaign to support Mental Health Week

UBX launches its first global campaign to support Mental Health Week
October 1, 2022

One of the world's fastest-growing boxing franchises, UBX is supporting World Mental Health Day (on 10th October) and Mental Health Week (running from 8th to 15th October) by opening its doors to the local community, inviting everyone to get their gloves on to experience the physical and mental health benefits of boxing.

During Mental Health Week, all UBX gyms across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore are offering their local communities free training.

UBX pronounced 'You-Box') delivers a unique mix of boxing and strength training across a 12-round circuit. Six of the rounds include boxing exercises, whether that’s bagwork or one-on-one padwork with a coach. The other six rounds include a combination of functional strength, cardio and conditioning movements. Each day is different, and members can start their workout at any time they like.

UBX co-founder and four-time world champion boxer, Danny Green will also be hosting a free virtual boxing masterclass in support of mental health for World Mental Health Day which will be live streamed on the UBX Facebook page at 6pm AEST.

To finish off the campaign, the UBX franchise network will be coming together to host the brand’s first-ever global open day, where they’ll be opening their doors to the local community and raising money for Black Dog Institute in Australia and Gumboot Friday in New Zealand.

Boxing is not only one of the most effective workouts for maintaining physical fitness, but it also provides huge benefits for your mental health, such as improved focus, relieving stress, bringing a sense of accomplishment and boosting endorphins.

Danny Green advised “Physical activity is an absolute medicine for mental health. I love seeing first hand the positive impact boxing has on our members. Anyone can train like a boxer at UBX, and we want everyone to come and experience the physical and mental health benefits for themselves.”

The public can claim their free week pass by finding their closest UBX gym via the brand’s website, and then using the online calendar to book in their first workout. They can then enjoy unlimited free training until Saturday 15th October.

Co-founded in Australia by Danny Green and fitness entrepreneur Tim West, the UBX franchise now has over 90 boutique gyms across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore. Earlier this year the brand carried out a major rebrand across its Australian network and announced plans to open 250 gyms in the UK and Ireland through a strategic partnership with Empowered Brands.
