Singapore architectural firm secures tender to illuminate Six Flags Qiddiya theme park

Saudi Arabia’s Six Flags Qiddiya theme park - described as the world’s largest theme park - has awarded the US$28 million tender to illuminate the theme park to Singapore architectural firm Swan & Maclaren Group (SMG).
Six Flags Qiddiya is located in Riyadh and is expected to be completed before 2025.
Considered one of Singapore’s pioneer architectural firm, Swan and Maclaren began in 1892 with landmarks such as the Raffles Hotel, Goodwood Park Hotel, Victoria Theatre and Concert Hall, Tanjung Pagar Railway station and many more. These buildings not only withstood the test of time but are often showcased as one of Singapore’s pride.
SMG are now present across Asia and internationally with offices in Hong Kong SAR, China, United Kingdom, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Saudi Arabia and Singapore as our global headquarters.
Their business has expanded beyond Architecture & Design, and presently includes Immersive Experience Design and Build, and Green Technology and Build.
SMG will provide illumination systems with the project marking SMG’s first illumination engineering work for a mega theme park in the Middle East.
The work spans the development, design and engineering; manufacture, supply and delivery; and testing and commissioning of lighting and lighting control systems for the theme park.
Edwin Tan, SMG deputy group Chief Executive noted “this is a significant illumination engineering project for us, and we are excited to work with our partners on this iconic and massive-scaled theme park project in Riyadh.”
