Northern Territory promoted as key tourism destination in Singapore
March 9, 2023

A Northern Territory tourism delegation is in Singapore this week to promote the Territory as a key tourism destination. Hosted by NT Department of Tourism, Industry and Trade, the delegation includes Tourism NT, Tourism Top End and 10 NT tourism and hospitality operators including Royal Flying Doctor Service Tourist Facility, Kakadu Air and Accor’s Mercure Darwin and Novotel Darwin Airport Resorts.

The NT tourism delegation has met with 40 Singaporean key distribution partners including product managers and travel agents as well as Singapore based media who promoted the visit and the NT to the Singaporean market.

The Singapore tourism trade mission face-to-face trade event was an opportunity for NT tourism businesses to connect, build relationships and educate key distribution partners on the Northern Territory as a key destination for holiday visitors with its close proximity to Singapore.

Tourism NT has trade campaigns with key distribution partners currently in market in Singapore promoting the Northern Territory as Different in every sense.

NT Department of Tourism, Industry and Trade Deputy Chief Executive Scott Lovett notes “Darwin is the closest Australian city to Singapore so the Singapore Trade Mission was important for our tourism industry and NT operators to build strong relationships with our Singaporean counterparts, ensuring the Northern Territory is front of mind.

“With Singapore Airlines offering non-stop flights between Darwin and Singapore, the Territory’s unique and diverse attractions are being promoted, whether it’s a Top End tropical summer holiday or a visit to Australia’s spiritual heart, the Red Centre, home to the iconic Uluru.

“The Northern Territory is truly different in every sense and the perfect place to seek different and experience unique travel experiences which can only be enjoyed in the NT, from our stunning landscapes and wide open spaces to the outback adventures, wildlife, traditional Aboriginal art, cultural and nature-based tourism activities.”
