Nike announces 2025 women’s race series ‘After Dark Tour’
Global sportswear giant Nike has announced their 2025 After Dark Tour as part of an ongoing championing of women runners and their communities.
The 2025 After Dark Tour, a global women’s race series, is crafted to bring women runners together, fostering a sense of community, self-expression and belief that will leave athletes feeling seen, supported and motivated to take on their next challenge.
The After Dark Tour invites women runners to race the night away in 10Ks and half marathons in six major cities: Sydney, Shanghai, Seoul, Mumbai, Los Angeles and Mexico City.
A holistic, community-powered Nike training program - complete with digital training plans, a Nike coach, local run club meetups and community events - will help runners feel prepared, confident and connected as they work toward race day.
Beyond chasing times and miles, each event reflects the convergence of nightlife, running, community, culture and style - and is designed to feed the passion athletes have for sport, connection and shared experiences.
Each race weekend will include Nike product and style experiences, expert coaching guidance and motivation, race day preparation services, recovery zones and post-race celebrations to end the night.
Seema Simmons, VP, Global Women’s Running and Training advised "we're creating a space where women runners feel welcome and empowered. The After Dark Tour is about more than crossing a finish line - it's about joining a community that supports and uplifts you, no matter where you are in your running journey. We're inviting all women to come as they are and discover the strength within themselves and the power of our collective energy."
Further, the After Dark Tour is designed to empower women to perform their best and create lasting connections through a training journey that begins well before race day and fosters a love for sport that extends far beyond the finish line - reflecting Nike’s longstanding and lasting commitment to supporting women runners.
Runners will be able to access official After Dark Tour training plans through the Nike Run Club App, complete with specialised instruction from Nike Run Coach Diljeet Taylor that's designed to build runners’ endurance and confidence to take on a 10K, half marathon or both distances. The 10K plan spans six weeks, and the half marathon plan includes 12 weeks of instruction.
Taylor adds “getting athletes to the starting line knowing that their coach believes in them is the best race day preparation. I am so excited to be part of this journey where I have the opportunity to motivate and train an entire community of runners that maybe wouldn’t have sought out a goal like this, and I get to be someone who helps them set and chase that goal and cross the finish line. To me, that’s very humbling and fulfilling."
In the leadup to race day, the Nike Run Club App will help athletes connect with friends and other runners through experiences and challenges in their neighbourhoods and across the globe. The Nike Run Club App now provides athletes localised tips before they head out and allows them to share their real-time location with friends and family during their run.
Nike is also enabling the full training journey and race day experience with the latest innovations and running essentials, which are purpose-built to help women train and compete at their peak.
The After Dark Tour begins 12th April in Sydney and concludes 21st June in Mexico City. Learn more and register for a race at afterdarktour.nike.com.
