IAAPA Takes Safety Education on the Road in 2010

On the heels of success in 2008 and 2009, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) expands its Safety Institutes program in 2010, with stops in Asia and the Middle East as well as the Americas.

Operators, developers, and government officials are invited to learn from industry experts as they discuss how to achieve safety excellence in the attractions industry.

As Charles Bray, President and Chief Executive of IAAPA explains, "IAAPA has always been committed to safety and fostering member education, which is why itâs exciting to expand our safety education efforts this year, and address region-specific issues.

"Participants at the Safety Institutes will truly benefit from the speakersâ industry experience and the focus on best practices."

The following Safety Institutes are planned for 2010:

IAAPA Safety Institute in the People's Republic of China
Beijing, China - 12th March

The daylong institute will be held in partnership with the China Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (CAAPA) during its annual Expo, and includes collaboration with the China Special Equipment Inspection and Research Institute (CSEI) and the General Administration of Quality Supervision Inspection and Quarantine of the Peopleâs Republic of China (AQSIQ).

IAAPA Middle East Safety Institute
Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates - 15th March

For the third consecutive year, the IAAPA Middle East Safety Institute will cover best safety practices and allow attendees to share their own experiences through a combination of roundtable discussions, lectures, and networking opportunities.

IAAPA Safety Institute in India
Mumbai, India - 17th March

In partnership with the Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) and its annual Expo, the Institute offers participants a full day covering safety standards compliance and operations and maintenance safety for amusement parks and waterparks.

IAAPA Safety Institute in Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - 13th July

The fourth Safety Institute will kick off the education conference at IAAPAâs annual Asian Attractions Expo.

IAAPA is also planning Safety Institutes and education sessions during the week of Euro Attractions Show 2010, which takes place in Rome, Italy from 6th to 8th October and the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2010, which takes place in Orlando, Florida, from 15th to 19th November.
