The Kai Tak Sports Park in Hong Kong is seeking to recruit a Manager – Training & Development

About the role
Reporting to the General Manager - Human Resources, the role of the Manager -Training & Development is to identify, develop and implement training programs for the business. Collaborating with the internal and external specialists, be responsible for the implementation and delivery of training programs.

Engaging and consulting with the key business leaders and human resources (HR) stakeholders: Plan, design, develop, coordinate, and evaluate fit-for-purpose and cost-effective training solutions, particularly in the area of operational needs – to ensure that all frontline staff responsible in their relevant segments are equipped with necessary competencies in their line of service.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify, design, develop, implement, and maintain programs by specifying training objectives, content, activities and methods to meet with the training needs to achieve the company’s business target;
  • Proactively transfer insights into training plans to uphold Kai Tak Sports Park’s service quality;
  • Deliver various training programs for business units, including both supervisory and professional development programs;
  • Design and deliver various online and offline learning and development initiatives;
  • Deliver train-the-trainer to support routine operational training, such as induction program, field coaching, customer service training, etc.;
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders to plan, and evaluate effective training and development solutions according to the business needs;
  • Coordinate training logistics and related administration works;
  • Formulate and execute Kai Tak Sports Park training guidelines, the annual training budget and other key performance indicators (KPIs);
  • Conduct various analyses and reports on learning initiatives;
  • Conduct research and identify learning and development best practices;
  • Identify the extent of a program’s impact on participants and maintain follow-up on their applications after the program;
  • Review course evaluation for further enhancement or improvement;
  • Participate in the development of long-term plans, training structure, organization, policies, programs, services and practices in order to accomplish the training mission;
  • Execute and deliver quality and effective training to different target participants;
  • Maintain the training library/record/file management;
  • Participate in new business initiatives/project arising from the department’s strategic/operational business plan; and
  • Act as the subject-matter expert in driving new training initiatives to support different channel.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in HR Management, Business Administration or related disciplines;
  • Minimum eight years of related experience;
  • Excellent business acumen, being able to connect theory to practice;
  • Strong relationship building and influencing skills, innovative and agile;
  • Strong leadership and managerial experience;
  • Structured approach to planning and KPI measuring;
  • Proficient in MS applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel);
  • Digital-savvy, having worked with Learning Management Systems/LMS as regional/local Administrator; and
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin).

Working in the venue and event industry means supporting the delivery of events across the event calendar. This means that weekend, evening and public holiday work will be required.

Kai Tak Sports Park
The 50,000-capacity Kai Tak Sports Park is a fully integrated sports, leisure and entertainment destination that is expected to be completed in 2023. The 28-hectare park will be part of the redevelopment on the site of the old Hong Kong International Airport in Kai Tak. Kai Tak Sports Park Limited (KTSPL) has been awarded the contract to undertake this project. ASM Global, through its subsidiary company in Hong Kong, SMG China, has been engaged by KTSPL to be the Operator of Kai Tak Sports Park.
